The New Year tends to prompt us as a society to reflect on what our choices are. It’s also the time of year that individuals attempt to make resolutions and start something new. If you are looking at a cleanse or detox for yourself perhaps this will open up an internal discussion to decide your best approach to 2012. You will find that it is a combination of both cleanse and Detox.
For clarification there is difference between cleanse and detox. To cleanse is to make clean. Detoxification or detox for short is the removal of toxic substances from a living organism, including, but not limited to, the human body and additionally can refer to the period of withdrawal during which an organism returns to homeostasis after long-term use of an addictive substance. In my opinion, addictive substances include but are not limited to sugar and/or artificial sweeteners, coffee, alcohol/drugs, mental thought patterns, and emotional thought patterns.
As a personal consultant I listen to the needs of my client. While listening and constructing a plan for cleansing or detoxing I go back to the basics of natural health. Information on 1099′s
It’s the end of the year and that means preparing for tax season. The only managers to receive a 1099 will be those who have received a bonus check in excess of $600.00 based on rebates from your managers. If you do not have managers in your down-line and receive a bonus check that income does not have to be reported on a 1099. Further, they found an even higher amount of honey apparently had been concocted without the help of bees, made from artificial sweeteners and then extensively filtered to remove any proof of contaminants or adulteration or indications of precisely where the honey actually originated.
The U.S. consumes about 400 million pounds of honey a year – about 1.3 pounds per person. About 35 percent is consumed in homes, restaurants, and institutions. The remaining 65 percent is bought by industries for use in cereals, baked goods, sauces, beverages and hundreds of different processed foods. However, the USDA says, “bee keepers can only supply about 48 percent of what’s needed in this country.” The remaining 52 percent comes from 41 other countries. A U.S. Customs report of import data for “Food Safety News” showed that about 48 million pounds of honey came from trusted and usually reliable suppliers in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Mexico. Almost 60 present of what was imported – 123 million pounds – came from Asian countries traditional laundering points for Chinese honey. This included 45 million pounds from India alone.
Chinese and Indian honey producers fighting Foulbrood disease use several Indian-made animal antibiotics, including Chloramphenicol. Medical researchers found that children given Chloraphenicol as an antibiotic are susceptible to DNA damage and carcinogenicity.

Lion’s Mane
Lion’s Mane is one of the edible mushrooms widely distributed inJapanandChina. Its name comes from its beautiful white icicle-like spines. Scientific studies performed inAsiaconfirm its traditional use as a digestion and nervous system tonic. Most important, Japanese studies show that Lion’s Mane is able to regenerate neurons by stimulating production of Nerve Growth Factor.
Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) belongs to a family of proteins that play a part in maintenance, survival and regeneration of neurons during adult life. As we age, NGF declines, resulting in less efficient brain functioning. In 1986, two scientists, Rita Levi-Montalcini and Stanley Cohen, won the Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine for the discovery and isolation of NGF. Since its discovery, researchers have been interested in ways of enhancing NGF. Because NGF is unable to cross the blood-brain barrier, it cannot be administered as an oral drug. Accordingly, scientists directed their attention to finding bioactive compounds with a low molecular weight that could penetrate the blood-brain barrier and be taken orally to induce synthesis of NGF within the brain.
A breakthrough occurred when a Japanese research team discovered a class of compounds called hericenones in Lion’s Mane that stimulate production of NGF, causing neurons to regrow. These compounds offer great potential for repairing neurological damage, improving intelligence and reflexes and even more significant, preventing and treating Alzheimer’s Disease , AD. What’s more, hericenones are the first active substances found in plants to induce NGF synthesis. Other known compounds in Lion’s Mane, as well as some yet to be identified, are also believed to be bioactive.
A fat-soluble fraction isolated from Lion’s Mane, called amyloban, was found to protect against neuronal cell death caused by toxic beta amyloid peptide. Beta amyloid peptide is the main component of plaque that develops in the brain of Alzheimer’s disease patients, causing destruction of neurons as it progresses.
A study conducted at aChinesePharmaceuticalUniversityand a rehabilitative hospital inJapan substantiated the benefits of Lion’s Mane when working with several types of dementia. These studies have shown that after receiving Lion’s Mane under controlled conditions there was marked improvement in physical capabilities and perceptive capabilities. After six months of taking Lion’s Mane the patients experienced improvements in their overall evaluation test.
These studies were very encouraging with no adverse effects.
It is now known that beta amyloid begins to accumulate in the brain ten to fifteen years before onset of dementia. NGF has been suggested as a treatment for AD and preventing and aiding varies types of dementia. Since Lion’s Mane stimulates production of NGF and inhibits toxicity of beta amyloid peptide, it is receiving a lot of attention in the medical and scientific community.
